Taquete is a unique and very old weft-faced weave. Dating back to the third century AD, it is still used today to create beautiful textiles suitable for the table, wall and floor.
Our instructor, Lillian A. Whipple, has two Certificates of Excellence from the Handweavers’ Guild of America and a host of accomplishments that cover education, exhibitions, teaching and publishing. She has a lengthy list of awards for her fashions and wall hangings. Lillian specializes in complex weaves and fine threads, including fine silks.
Participants will weave with various samplings of warps, wefts and treadlings as they explore the weave structure on their pre-warped 8-harness looms.
Participants will need a pre-threaded 8 shaft table loom. Warping instructions will be provided prior to the workshop, including needed materials.
